What is the success rate of the Oxford House? ›

Oxford Houses have an 80% success rate, nationally.

Generally an individual comes into an Oxford House following a 28-day rehabilitation program or at least 10-day detoxification program.

A recovering individual can live in an Oxford House for as long as he or she does not drink alcohol, does not use drugs, and pays an equal share of the house expenses. the average stay is a little over a year, but many residents stay three, four, or more years. There is no pressure on anyone in good standing to leave.

A key difference between an Oxford House and many other sober living environments is that there is no maximum length of stay. Residents can live in the home as long as they don't drink alcohol nor use drugs and they pay their share of expenses.

Gaining admission to Oxford is undeniably challenging. It's not just about academic excellence; Oxford University seeks well-rounded candidates who demonstrate intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep passion for their chosen field.

You will need to submit an application through the UCAS. You will need to provide records of your high school and write a personal statement. Many Oxford courses require an admission test and/or some written work. If you're deemed a good candidate, you will be called for an interview.

Experience of Oxford House has shown that from 8 to 15 members works very well. Oxford House will not charter a house with fewer than six individuals because experience has shown that it takes at least six individuals to form an effective group.

With Oxford House there is no need for a recovering individual to live in an environment dominated by loneliness. The only members who will ever be asked to leave an Oxford House are those who return to drinking, using drugs, or have disruptive behavior, including the nonpayment of rent.

A halfway house allows for stays of a specific program duration. Oxford Houses allow residents to stay for as long as they like. The average stay is for about one year, but there is no rule that requires someone to leave.

The house is dirty inside and out. • There is no participation in chapter or other Oxford House activities. • Individuals are not working or are not practicing an active program of recovery.

Disruptive behavior includes participating in any criminal activity, such as drug trafficking, prostitution, shoplifting, assault, and theft within the house or any other activity that may threaten the standing of the Oxford House in the community.
